I have struggled with porn for about 25 years. I have been married for the last eight. Thank God for this forum!
I struggled with my morale at work because during some idle time, I would use the Internet at work for browsing non-work related things. Not porn, the filter here is pretty high. Even now, for example, I am waiting for a meeting to start and instead of doing work related items, here I am.
So to prevent me from doing personal browsing, which is really helpful for things around the house, etc., I got a DSL line for home use. I did this under the condition with my wife that only she has access. When I spoke with the DSL provider, they assured me that they supported password access.
I insisted that the password access be at the modem level. I am a computer engineer and have defeated filtering services before. If I was to have access to some Internet access, I can usually get to porn. My wife and I discovered, by accident, that the modem password as a way to restrict access, was not successful. Either was the DSL provider provided software. So we were ready to try another service and my wife picked WiseChoice.
Due to pressure from work, I finally had to try connecting my company provided laptop to the DSL line. And, of course, I had full access. I cannot install software onto this laptop except company provided software. So here's my problem. I am stuck with the ability to by pass Wisechoice. I was hoping you could provide some server side filtering? |

Have you thought of talking to your company about using filtering on all their machines? I suspect that you are not the only one in your company tempted by porn. Imagine all the man-hours they could save by adding mandatory filtering software! You just might save them big bucks!
There may be a price break for companies using Wisechoice, but you would have to ask ned about that. |

| Hey Tigertank, you have made the start already by sharing what is happeing in your life. I found talking with someone else personally who I know has helped me a lot. As an Evangelists I am forever amazed just how many people told me that they have this problem. They tell me because I move on all the time! Your God's son and He wants you set free! |

the bible says"
1Cr 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it]. |

| My company already has filtering software at the proxy level, so everyone who uses the company's Internet connection is filtered. They probably don't see a need for individual boxes needing filtering but to bring it up would raise suspicion of using a company asset for personal use. I agree that God has given me a way out of this, I just don't see it right now. |

| Does your company monitor for improper use of the internet (porn, gambling, etc.?) My employer has blocks on many websites and monitors ALL usage of the net through their connection. The fact that they would be watching me and I would lose a well paying job has kept me from ever trying to access anything questionable on their equipment. |

We offer accountability reporting which will gives someone else such as your wife, friend or pastor etc the right to look at your previous three day's surfing. Depending on how you set up your filtering it can also be arranged to email your accountability partner to warn them that you have been trying to access blocked sites. The history cannot be erased at the reporting site.
It is a very powerful motivator to keep you straight!
This is at no additional chare. You would need to get in touch with the office with a username for you parnter and an email address to send warning to.
Where there is light the darkness must flee.

Greetings
The filter is really helping...I am so thankful for that! I find myself trying to beat the filter however, and found a way to access adult material through internet groups. I want to BLOCK those groups; can the filter do that?
Not being able to turn off the filter is an awesome and absolutely necessary feature for me. I have the media filter on so no image searches which is also a necessary feature.
I just wanna work and honor my wife by staying away from this stuff, but as many of you know the addiction is really hard to kick. I seem to be clean for a while, then temptation strikes and I find myself trying to beat the filter. It's really frustrating and the guilt I experience afterwards is really quite profound and deep. I can honestly say that almost all the depression I experience in my life is a result of this addiction. So not worth it!!!
p.s. I have requested that all groups be blocked...hope it works. I really do want to win this fight!
